Function Assessment allows the doctor to analyze the fundamental movement capabilities of the patient, while assessing the core primary movements, using a system of dynamic functional movement screens or tests. Dr. Danieley is trained in understanding and recognizing dysfunction in motion, common muscle imbalances and will provide recommendations on corrective exercise to prevent further injury and enhance performance.
The doctor will also review static posture, common postural dysfunctions and asymmetries. He will educate the patient by explaining the influences these have on dynamic function, exercise and athletic performance.
The Dynamic Movement Screen can be applied to any patient, athletic or not, to further evaluate their current condition and progress.
Sports Performance Enhancement & Core Stability for Injury Prevention:
Whether you enjoy an occasional gym session or you're an elite athlete, core stability should be part of your training regime. Part of Dr. Danieley’s treatment includes assessing the functionality of the core muscles. Should a test demonstrate a weak core, he will not only treat the injured muscle(s) but also explain how the injury happened and show you how to stretch and strengthen the muscle to prevent further reoccurrence.
Sports Performance Enhancement - Kinetic Spine & Sport
Working on your core can vastly improve balance and strength. These muscles provide a solid base upon which all other muscles can work upon to initiate movement. A strong core will also increase the torsion (twisting) strength, which improves your ability and performance in any sport that demands this from the athlete.
Strong core muscles keep your back healthy. They hold your body upright, improve your balance and enable better strength in your arm and leg movements. If the core muscles are weak, your body doesn't work as effectively, and other muscles have to pick up the slack.
Having a strong core greatly reduces the chances of injury. As the body starts to tire, posture and muscle function starts to compensate. It’s this improper compensation that tends to lead to a rolled ankle, injured back, painful knees, etc.
The difference between having the edge in your chosen sport will consistently come down to your ability to maintain the most efficient functioning of your core muscles.
